Is there anything cooler than winning a Blackhawk Cup state championship on your home ice? The answer is, no there isn't. That's what the Bantam NIHL 2 team accomplished Friday night when they shut out the Express 3-0 to earn a B state title. Goalie Patrick O’Gara registered the shutout, while Alex Tinerella go the Blues on the board first, and Andrew Zimmerman added two insurance goals (one an empty-netter).

But this team was far from done. Saturday morning they traveled to the Kenosha Ice Arena to play the Komets for a Blackhawks/NIHL Silver third-place banner. It took two overtimes but the Blues came out on top 3-2. Goalie Eli Rollins had 10 saves in OT alone, and Evan Pak scored the banner-winning goal in OT.

If you're scoring at home, that's two playoff banners in the span of about 12 hours. Not bad for a half-day's work.
