As our 2019 spring program winds down, the Chicago Blues want to provide an update about next season’s tryout schedule. In years past, tryouts for Squirts, Pee Wees and Bantams could not begin until September 1. 

However, there is currently an amendment to this rule being considered by AHAI that would allow tryouts to begin on August 25, 2019. The vote on this proposed amendment is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 1.

From the Chicago Blues perspective, we are in favor of this amendment to have the ability to begin tryouts as early as August 25 for Squirts, Pee Wees and Bantams (tryouts for Midgets and Mites will most likely begin before August 25). Accordingly, we will post the tryout schedule sometime after the June 1 vote (hopefully by mid-June at the latest) for all of our teams.
